purpose of journey: to celebrate my birthday, to see friends & family, to travel solo for the first time, and to connect with my scottish roots

favorite outfit you packed: my blue backless jumpsuit. it’s my one and done outfit and was especially useful in the 95 degree london heat
how many pairs of shoes: 4. danner hiking boots, vans, hunter chelsea wellies, and heeled booties i didn’t touch
what are you listening to: a lot of kate bush, kendrick lamar, the clash, sza, pylon, orange juice, mobb deep (rip prodigy)
favorite meal: a toss up between the best indian food i’ve ever had on brick lane in london, and the haggis my cousin made for breakfast in kirriemuir
highlight of the trip: my last full day in scotland and my last day on the isle of skye, i took a boat trip to the ascribe islands to see the puffins that burrow in the cliffside during summer. my late father was an avid birder and always wanted to see a puffin more than any other bird but never did, so it was a really special experience for me to see them.
