bag it • sell by mail

 

want to know prices? live outside nyc and/or can’t make it to our stores? or rather sell with us from home?

receive cash or store credit for your vintage or modern clothing with our sell by mail service, bag it 

  • receive price estimate quotes for your items before agreeing to sell, we pay 30% cash or 50% store credit
  • you do not wait for your items to sell before you receive your money, you get cash or trade once the items have been received and processed by our bag it team!


 


here’s how it works:

step 1) get pre-approved

  • represent your items accurately; provide at least 3 photos of each piece: 1) front  2) back  3) detail

  • email at least 3 photos of each of your items to bagit@beaconscloset.com  (for larger submissions, we suggest sharing your photos via a cloud sharing link such as a Google Drive folder, DropBox, or iCloud link).

 

  • submit additional photos of any details you feel will help us assess the value of your item (condition, the label, inside and outsole of shoes, era, etc)
     
  • due to shipping costs and for sustainability reasons, we cannot send a mailer for submissions with less than 5 accepted items. 50 item max per submission please. we highly suggest submitting at least 10 items for consideration, as it makes the selling process more efficient and maximizes your potential payment amount

  • please note: approved items that are not accurately represented by customer, will be donated with no payment to customer, or can be returned at the sole cost of the customer 

  • wait for an email confirmation. we will notify you within 48 hours of accepted items and their price estimates

step 2) bag it

  • once you've approved your estimate(s) we will send you a pre-paid mailer

  • once you receive your pre-paid mailer, simply bag up your pre-approved item(s) and ship them back

  • ensure that the bag is packed according to our instructions

  • attach the enclosed pre-paid shipping label and drop it at your local UPS store

  • please note we allow for one submission per client at a time

step 3) get paid

  • once we receive and process your approved item(s) you'll get cash or credit immediately 

  • if you chose cash: you will be paid via paypal - please note this payment may take 3 to 5 days to clear

  • if you chose store credit: once your items are processed you'll be emailed a receipt that your in-store credit was issued. to use the credit at any of our four store locations greenpoint, bushwick, park slope, and manhattan just provide your name and phone number when checking out (id may be required). 

please note: we have recently implemented a 4% service fee charge for each submission made through our bag it sell-through-mail service. the fee will be calculated off of the estimated retail total and subsequently will be deducted from the seller's chosen payment method which will be issued at the conclusion of the submission process. this fee allows us to sustainably continue to offer our sell-through-mail service.

(the service fee is reduced to 2% for submissions with a retail total of $2,000+). 

only pre-approved items can be included in the mailers. items sent without approval cannot be processed and incur additional fees.
