double exposure portrait of face and bare trees.

between reality and a dream

beautiful film shot of tattered gown.

a beautiful eeriness and nostalgia are evident in the photography of husband and wife duo waxenvine. using film cameras, digital, and traditional darkroom techniques, scott irvine and kim meinelt produce hauntingly alluring images. together, they conjure a world that exists between reality and dreams, concocting a narrative from a lost era. the duo works in tandem on the photography, as irvine and meinelt masterfully blend their talents for styling, posing, and casting models while implementing techniques involving texture, shadow, and exposure. all are skillfully manipulated for the surreal, otherworldly effect.
