help support LGBTQ+ homeless youth

friends together at the event.

in recognition of pride and the 50th anniversary of the stonewall riots, beacon's closet is raising funds for new alternatives—a local drop-in center dedicated to the care and well-being of lgbtq+ homeless youth and young adults in new york city! are you aware that lgbtq+ youth comprise nearly 40% of all homeless youth in nyc despite accounting for only 7% of the total youth population? across the country, lgbtq+ youth are disproportionately affected by homelessness and experience higher rates of poverty, abandonment, bullying, violence, and trauma than their heterosexual peers.

that is why we need your help. as we celebrate love, diversity, and acceptance throughout the month of june, i hope you will pause to consider the most vulnerable among us. please join us in supporting lgbtq+ homeless youth by donating to this incredible organization. your contribution will allow them to clothe, feed, care for, and educate every young person who walks through their doors and will ensure lgbtq+ homeless youth have the guidance and resources they need to safely transition to stable adult lives.

even if you are unable to donate today, you can still help us reach this goal by sharing the fundraising page with others and encouraging them to give. we can spread the word about new alternatives and their life-saving work together.

thank you!
