a: this is andré with beacon's closet. who are we here with today?
b: we're here with berta, ny based model, creative photographer, dj...i do a lot of things. and crochet artist!
a: tell us about this piece (points to crochet purse berta is wearing).
b: so this is like a new design that i came up with that's actually functional. so you can take off like the straps and it can be either just like a clutch purse or like kind of more functional. it's hand crocheted because crocheting is not like, something you can do with a machine, you actually have to do it with your hands. so it's something that my grandma taught me when I was like five years old.
a: winter is coming up. what do you like? what are the pieces that you're looking for winter? like what are things that you're looking forward to? styles, pieces, events, anything like that?
b: i think layers. layers. one more word. layers!!! turtlenecks, like long trench coats. we love a long leather trench. protect your ears. cause the wind tunnels in ny are like really no joke! cozy wear is gonna be like my statement piece.
a: what's like a staple piece in your closet.
b: i think jeans. i love like a good denim, usually vintage. my bag, honestly, like i appreciate it for myself first. whenever i've made something, it's been like an answer to something that i've been looking for that i couldn't really find.
a: is there any trends that you are like kind of over?
b: there's too many. i think i'm also transitioning out of just like you wear it once type of pieces into more like really investment pieces, that you know are going to be with you for like a few years. the way that i've started seeing trends is like I don't care about them anymore actually. and it's just wearing what feels good for you on your body specifically trendless.
